Google is launching the seventh edition of the “Startups Accelerator” for Pakistan and South Asia, accepting up to 15 seed and Series A applications from its offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

They are dedicated to addressing the industry’s most pressing issues, particularly in fintech, health tech, retail and e-commerce, and SME-focused B2B solutions.

Google will provide three months of training to the companies in order to assist them to solve their problems by providing them with Google resources such as Google mentors, where applicants will meet like-minded individuals and relevant examples to aid them through their business journey.

Throughout the program, they will receive personalized guidance from Google’s global mentor network, as well as access to Google’s experts in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, Android, and the web, as well as training in topics such as product design, business strategy, customer acquisition, and leadership development.

More than 90 firms have received funding from Google’s first GFSA since its inception in 2016. Since then, these firms have raised over $5.4 billion in capital and created over 1,600 jobs in Pakistan and Southeast Asia.

According to Google, entrepreneurs in Pakistan received $350 million in funding in 2021, a small figure when compared to the Indian startup climate but five times higher than in 2020.

The internet giant stated that the “Google for Startups Accelerator” will help the next generation of tech company founders in South East Asia and Pakistan, particularly those interested in e-commerce, finance, healthcare, SME-focused B2B solutions, education, agriculture, and logistics.

“We’re searching for 10 to 15 businesses in the seed or Series A stage based in Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam,” Google announced late Friday.
