According to the latest figures issued by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), Pakistan cars sales decreased by 46% in last year (YOY) making it 50.30 percent decrease during the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2022-23.
According to the data, 85,776 cars were sold between July and March 2022-23, compared to 172,612 units between July and March 2021-22.
According to the breakdown numbers, 12,381 Honda Civic and City units were sold during the equivalent period of 2022-23, compared to 28,830 units sold the previous year, representing a 57.05 percent decrease.
Sales for the first nine months of the current fiscal year totaled 110,405 units, a 46% decrease year on year.
The decline in sales is primarily due to the non-availability of CKDs, rising car prices, expensive auto financing, and low consumer purchasing power in the current fiscal year because of record high inflation.
