A group of sand portrait artists lead by Sameer Shoukat from Balochistan known for their amazing bird view sand portraits at the beach recently drew a portrait of Shah Rukh Khan on the sand at Pakistan’s Gadani Beach. The portrait went viral although it is not the first portrait by the sand artist. Previously the sand artists have been paying tributes to celebrities thorough their amazing sand portraits getting fame from all over the globe.

Who is Sameer Shoukat?

Sameer Shoukat, a Baloch sand artist from Gaddani, Balochistan, was born on December 11, 2003. He finished second out of 80 in the professional category in a tournament in Gwadar in 2020. This challenge encouraged the young artist to pursue his artistic passion.
Shoukat’s sand portraits of celebrities have been going viral around the globe, while he himself faded into obscurity. Many people shared the art without mentioning the artist until he received a response from Shahnawaz Dahani recently, when Dahani presented the sketch to Virat Kohli in Australia. Virat thanked the squad for their consideration.
